It seems to be the in thing today to have a bonze statue in a particular pose as a meeting place for fans in an hour of need eg Bremner Leeds .Robson Ipswich Moore wembley
If we ever get to Fossetts who would you like and in what pose??

For me its got to be Billy Best in a goal celebration

THIS COULD BE A GREAT IDEA WONDER IF RON WOULD CHIP IN A COUPLE OF QUID TOWARDS IT

second thoughts Ron with a suitcase full of money might be more apt !!

Ron Martin, being a lifelong shrimpers fan (ha ha) has probably never even heard of Billy Best!

Steve Tilson Southend uniteds greatest player and manager,it would be fitting and proper i feel, and i reckon about 25ft in height.

I can only assume that anyone who has suggested tilson for the statue either has no idea of our history or has only supported the club for the past six years....do me a favour, for me david webb deserves it more for his service to the club especially the promotions in the late 80s early 90s, and he didnt get us relegated the following season from div 1!

Definitely Billy Best for me.

Only trouble is, if Ron Martin sanctions it, he will say it will be made of Bronze, but it will turn out to be Chalk, painted Bronze.

benji, for that goal :)

or Dave webb

but surely sid broomfield

or duncan jupp with his arms flailing around like a lunatic!!!

ive been a fan for a long time and I think tilly would be fitting, wont happen tho, too recent, and the manner of his exit doesnt match the quality of his tenure.

I'd like to see it of Benji coiled and poised to strike that goal against Bury.

I think this perfectly represents what our club is about.

nonsense, webby is a legend no doubt but I still maintain that tillys style of footy was more pleasing on the eye, and two ldv finals and eight years as a player puts him ahead of webby IMO
