Could someone explain to me why these people travel through many countries to get to the UK if their lives are in danger then surely the nearest safe country should be their first port of call ?

Travelling in the way the do leaves little trace and the effort of tracking them down normally puts off pursuers .

Well dear boy in some cases that is genuine (i.e the genuine asylum seekers ) , there's economic migrants there's those seeking asylum , there's those expanding criminal activities etc . The serious question we need to ask is why we always keep thinking this is one issue with only one solution ?
