Email from the club, just received:
Southend United Football Club are delighted to announce plans for fans returning to Roots Hall, starting with the visit of Scunthorpe United on Saturday 12th December, 3pm kick-off.
Being in Tier 2, Blues are allowed an attendance of 2,000 supporters at Roots Hall, which confirms that all persons who purchased a 20/21 season card will be able to attend future matches as part of their season card package. We can't wait to have our supporters back in the stadium!

Physical season cards will not be printed and you will receive match tickets for each fixture in a batch postal delivery which will also include the Southend United Return of Fans Stadium Guide to make yourselves aware of the changes being made to ensure that you all return in a safe manner.

There will be 280 remaining tickets available to purchase, these are available in the Outstanding North Bank and Paul Robinson West Stand only due to restrictions; below is how they can be purchased and who by.

The following three fixtures will, on Monday, be available to purchase, exclusively to 19/20 season card holders who did not renew their season cards for this season.

Southend United v Scunthorpe United – Saturday 12th December, 3pm kick-off.
Southend United v Grimsby Town – Tuesday 15th December, 7pm kick-off.
Southend United v Colchester United – Saturday 26th December, 1pm kick-off.

A maximum of four tickets can be purchased at one time and they have to be for others who were also season card holders during the 19/20 season to ensure we have all relevant data for track and trace purposes.

Following the December fixtures, 19/20 season card holders will have a small priority window to purchase tickets for that month only.

For example, there will be a five-day period shortly after the Colchester United fixture to purchase for games in the month of January.

Following the priority window, the remaining tickets available for each fixture in January will then go on sale to fans with a previous ticket history over the last four seasons and fans will only be able to attend if they’re in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 postcode district.

Tickets will only be sold over the phone or in person to ensure the above data is correct and the social distanced seating is adhered to.

Matchday Ticket Price.

• Adult: £25
• Senior: £18
• Student, Young Person and Disabled Adult: £17
• Junior: £12
• Under 9: £5

Tickets will go on sale to 19/20 season card holders from Monday 7th December at 10am for the three games in December, these can be purchased in person or by calling the Blues Box Office on 08444 770077.

Please note, we have reduced the amount of people able to queue on the phone to save supporters being charged for the wait time, if you are unable to get through, please continue trying and we will endeavour to answer all calls.

Over the coming days we will be announcing further information including the Supporter ‘COVID’ Code of Conduct along with the Southend United Return of Fans Stadium Guide, which will outline the changes being made to ensure that supporters return in a safe manner.

They will both be available on the club website, as well as being sent out via email and by text message to supporters who have bought a ticket, so please ensure that all your information is up to date with the Ticket Office.

If you’re unsure on whether you wish to return due to the Coronavirus pandemic, please be assured that the EFL iFollow service will still be made available to season card holders to watch the game from home.

For any other queries, please contact the Blues Box Office on tickets@southend-united.co.uk or call 08444 770077 and we will endeavour to assist you with your query.

Due to the current restrictions, hospitality at Roots Hall is unavailable. When we are able to offer hospitality packages we will update supporters, please keep an eye out on all channels on how you can purchase or email commercial@southend-united.co.uk.

Thank you for your continued support!

£25 seems a lot to ask..

Have they tweeted this statement out? They should if they haven't.

Exceptional value lol

I could go and still have a credit to use on tickets this seasons tickets but would rather wait until there is more chance of a bigger crowd.

It would have made more sense to sell the 280 as seasons tickets for the remainder of the season and then more again when covid is falling and 4k can come in.

Would be easier for the club to manage and would offer a little more security on a match day knowing exactly who is coming.

Thats much better news to think that 2000 Shrimpers can get in there cheering I hope our boys to the rooftops. Also a much needed although tiny income boost if 280 tickets remain to be sold £5k?? to ground maintenence or cost of getting stadium ready? Plus buy lots of burgers and programmes and a visit to the shop maintaining the walkway, mask, non chanting, space approach

Looking forward to a premium rate phone call on Monday , joining a long queue - 280 tickets isn't a lot , but hey it's a step in the right direction ............UTB

Ifollow will be still available
Yes it will be, not sure if it stops being free for ST holders though. I heard somewhere that if a team can get all their ST holders in, then the free service for them would stop and it would be chargabkle at £10 per game.

Not sure if that’s correct just what i heard, also not sure of a ST holder doesnt want to go then if they get an alloweance.

Hmmm not got an email...any other season ticket holder’s not got one?
