An old supporter of the Blues I look forward to reading comments on Shrimperzone.

My memories go back a long way and I also remember Harry Threadgold way back in the 1950s.

Others of note were Jimmy McAlinden, Kevin Baron, Tommy Tippett, Roy Hollis and one of my all time favourites Albert Wakefield. Who else remembers the excitement of the speed on the right wing of Erroll Crossan. Older members might also smile when I remind them of Frank Sheard, the man with the biggest sliding tackle ever.

As usual, I look forward to promotion this season, 14/15, but of late, this has seemed elusive!

Welcome Bob, hopefully promotion as champions please! No messing about and up be Easter.
A good home League Cup 1st round draw would be ok, and a JPT by in the 1st round of that comp.
I also want so reasonable games for the Christmas period, a Boxing Day homer against Cambridge and away trip inside of 100 miles to travel.

bloody hell bob,did you fight at d-day:winking:.....a few shrimperzoners still remember those players..my first game was 67,not so young myself, welcome

Welcome Bob. You'll fit right in just so long as you can speculate on the impossible or unlikely, and have a friend of a friend who is 'in the know' and has never got any of his inside knowledge wrong!

I certainly remember HG (but in the early 60's) in my case.

Too young to remember RH,Jimmy Mac or EC or AW (but my parents were certainly big fans).

Surely, John Kurila had the greatest sliding tackle ever (I learnt my technique from him)?

Welcome to SZ,Btw.
