Iran-UN

It's worth pointing out that this (and other) conspiracy theories about 9/11 have been around for quite a while now.

Why is it worth pointing that out? The "evidence" that these theories allude to has been stripped apart for years now... The creator of the "loose change" documentary was ridiculed for what he labelled as cast iron evidence eventually turning out to be nothing more than circumstantial. Ahmedinejad is a mad man, a lunatic who is so distant from the general feeling of his people that even Russia has cancelled arms contracts with him.

Do you think all the people you disagree with are mad? ;)

Up until recently my company has been heavily involved with Iran, and the movement of freight to various Oil & Gas installations, having worked closely with Iranians for many years, I can tell you that to a man (and woman) they all regard Imadinnerjacket as lunatic.

He's rigging of last years election result with the connivance of the Mullahs is just a small case in point. From the many Iranians I know are adamant that Moussavi won the election. There is still a strong movement for change in Iran and I hope that sooner rather than later political change can come. As ever it's the innocent people that suffer at the hands of megalomaniacs like Ahmedinjad.

I still blame Iran for bringing down the Carter administration.

Things could have been different.

Thank God they weren't. I couldn't see Carter winning the Cold War, could you? Viva Reagan.

Rocky IV won the Cold War.

Did you show your support for the hostages by purchasing a copy of Bomb Iran (sung to the tune of Barbara Ann by The Regents/The Beach Boys)?

You'll probably find that Ahmadinejad is in fact a Mossad agent trying to gain worldwide sympathy for Israel whilst also economically ruining one of Israel's biggest threats.

Wouldn't it be easier to gain worldwide sympathy by not storming an aid flotilla and killing several civillians?

On a serious note what would Israel do if Iran had a small revolution got rid of imamaddinnerjacket , said sod this we would actually like some peace now ?

If Iran were to have a revolution and embrace democracy, I dare say the US would welcome it with open arms amid the prospect of having another democratic ally in the region, leaving Israel little choice...

israel would carry on doing exactly what they want when they want, and then say what are you gonna do about it.

That's a fair summary of how Middle East politics work, given the unwavering support offered to Israel by the US - as demonstrated by the refusal to condemn their incursion into Lebanon a few years ago. Although one guesses that Obama would not have done the same.

Sorry, who suggested above that Reagan brought the cold war to an end? Presumably the inference from that is that if it weren't for Reagan, then either Gorbachev wouldn't have been appointed, or if he were, then he would have been a completely different leader and wouldn't have torn the wall down etc. What nonsense!

You're right, we shouldn't give Reagan any credit, after all, if your darling Obama had presided over this, you would still be handing all the credit to Gorbachev wouldn't you? Reagan's assertion that the Soviets were an 'evil empire' and his refusal to embrace detente made Gorbachev realize that the USSR couldn't compete in the Cold War, let alone win it. His embrace of perestroika and glasnost arose from necessity - the Soviet empire was on its knees, and Reagan was happy to put the boot in, where his predecessors would have shrunk from the task. Nonsense indeed - what an inane post.
