Tangled up in Blue

Once upon a time, most posters on SZ were fairly evenly split, between the pro or anti Ron
brigades.
The pro camp held sway for quite some time, however their position became pretty much untenable(IMO)with the unfolding of events in 2010 (if not before then).
I have, however, recently observed a new position among the recalcitrant few. There are some among them who argue for fiscal responsibility as the new Holy Grail, balancing the budget at all costs(even if this dooms us to continued life in L2 or even worse, relegation to the conference).
This new mantra(and with it) an attempt to build a new consensus, of course, chimes well with the national mood since the GE.
Of course, it still very much remains to be seen, whether this will be enough to allow us to survive in L2,let alone fight for a play-off place or ever reach the "promised land" of FF.
