a good idea to pick up very cheap young players with at least 1 passable primary skill or a solid secondary like passing? Coz i have yet to get a half decent YP, so im thinking of doing this and training them up instead to sell on. So far i've bought about 4 players for around 5k, and have a squad of around 26, with most of them being youngesters.

Am i making a mistake in doing this, or will it become worthwhile in a few weeks?

Only buy youngsters in the position you are going to train (and only train one position).

Otherwise its cheaper to buy older and more experienced players for positions you aren't training.
