it"s all going badly wrong!

What is wrong with stating the truth, we are a club that is going nowhere fast and it will probably get even worse in the next few days. Sleep tight and keep dreaming, love realist Wiggy!

What's wrong with stating the truth?

You said the club were being negative.
You said that Ron Martin had been getting away with murder.

Southend United can only spend a certain proportion of their income on wages.  Fact.  If Tilson blows it all on Constantine simply because he wants to treble his wages, we have to make other sacrifices elsewhere in the squad.  Connie is not worth that amount of money.

It may get worse in the next few days, but you still haven't said exactly what you would be doing - you seem to know exactly how much money is going around.

OH - did we not just sign a really top quality defender in Edwards?

No!?

The realist that advocates 'pushing the boat out' without having a scooby what the club's income, financial position or wage bill is.

The truth is we know the club can only afford so much - there is a wages cap put in place for next season. The truth is that Posh could offer more so Connie went. That is also the reality of a club in debt without a sugar daddy to bankroll them.

Keep digging, Wiggy, keep digging.

So why on earth are you advocating a policy that would expediate the demise of the football club? So far you've failed to convince ...

Totally agree with you. If Ron Martin thought anything of our club he would do what he could to hold on to decent players. How can he justify putting prices up after finishing 17th in the league and making players take pay cuts?

As stated, with our financial position we cannot push the boat out.
Especially on a players like constantine who through his whole career with umpteen clubs has scored a few goals at each. One good season does not make him worth doing everything possible to jeapodise other deals for new players and players like Maher, who over the seasons his consistant play has made him worthy of being offered good terms.

Just ask some Bradford fans about their board doing everything they could to keep players like Benito Carboni, but then again come the start of next season they might not be fans of Bradford, as they may be no Bradford to support.

Taken a look at the club accounts recently? I think you'll find the justification there ...

Because if he did not more players would leave!! Please use Google and find the section on the wage capping of the lower leagues. Of course to understand it will take some sort mental ability. Our wage bill MUST be a percentage of the overall turnover!!

Ok as most who are ranting might not be able to work google out here is a link for YOU!!

And as you read that independent report our club is a far healthier position than others.

So the answer is simple if you want better players at the club ensure the income is increased.

Ahhh the 'Leeds' method.

I was under the impression that this had gone out of fashion because it tended to lead to administration.

Something most of us appreciate and have been trying to point out. But some people seem to think that it's okay to throw around cash we haven't got for one season of success (and ultimately our last season at a football club) ...

Ah, but don't forget, Leeds were just "living the dream"

Seriously though, we have to live within our means for the next few years. Simple as that. I hope we pick up some good players and challenge for promotion, but we can't be held to ransom by players looking for a quick buck.
