that Ted should have been advised to wear a cap with a peak to combat the low sun.......

really a mark down on goalkeeeping coach and coaching staff......

that said it look as if their goal was down to Antons poor header - maybe he lacked confidence in Ted or Ted lacked the confidence to call - but goalkeepers wearing a cap to counter sun was in all those old time coaching books -

It's also blindingly obvious we won by three goals to their one which you're complaining about. Ted's young and will learn from each goal conceded and mistakes made.

He's played for England at quite a few levels so hopefully will turn out to be a decent keeper for us and beyond. Give the lad a break!

Is that the best you can to do to find fault in a 3-1 victory? Get a life will you.

May be he doesn't like wearing a cap (I'm sure that has been the case with some keepers) as though it does help keep the sun out, it can restrict your view

As you said Anton Ferdinand headed the ball away from Smith, how would a baseball cap stop that situation?

I agree. Anton Ferdinand wearing a baseball cap wouldn't have helped.

It would have looked cool, though!

When was the last time you saw a keeper wear a cap, or was today the first time the sun has even shone towards the North Bank?

It was a misjudgement by Ted...he will make others...... doubt he will blame the entirely predictable position of the sun that has been in the same place at the same time for the last 50 years...he is good keeper who will become a very very good one

Blindingly obvious that this is a waste of time......oh hang on..........eh BROWN OUT! Or something....

We rarely start off defending that goal, and the forecast has been so **** (and I didn't think it was predicted as good as it was) so absolutely no criticism from me. If he was that bothered then he'd have got a message to the bench via team mates and someone would have brought one round.

Well...that didn't go as well as you expected Rayleigh boy .......back to the "thinking out aloud board" for you :winking:

a bit of a weird reaction from everyone - just pointing out a small detail of possible interest...

cor blimey - not having a go at Ted

it feels very unfriendly...

Ted was at fault for the goal, no reason to come that far off his line. If he decides to he must get there. He didn't end of

as for the cap, he is a professional sportsman, it's his responsibility to ensure that he is kitted out properly. It was sunny when walming up so would have been aware of sun issues

If you feel the answers are unfriendly then perhaps starting a thread entitled its blinding obvious and calling for black marks on the coaching staff is not the way to go. There are many ways to start a debate but you set the tone and people responded in the same way.

Ted didn't wear a cap at Swindon away where the sun was even more of a problem. So as others have said maybe he doesn't like wearing them.
I doubt many keepers would have worn a cap yesterday.
