I don't think anyone would deny we needed strikers - but they weren't mutually exclusive.

What is this obsession that a CEO would not have signed the player nonsense.

The manager says who they want to sign with physio/fitness, scout, legal etc reports and the CEO role would be to negotiate the deal.

Not sure you're correct there dwb - Roche took a machete to a bouncer's leg but didn't shoot anybody (that we know of). That bouncer later killed a man with one punch in an unrelated incident. It truly is grim up north:
