Jacqui Smith expense claim.

Watching this from afar I think it's hilarious. Some old fat geezer has a sneaky tug when his wife's out and next there are questions being asked of the Prime Minister! For £8 of "taxpayers money"!!! Only in drama queen Britain could this be whipped this up into anything more than a meaningless load of crap.

To be fair though, watching Mr. Smith's apology outisde the front of his house really made me laugh - he looked like a 14 year old boy whose mum had just found his copy of Razzle under his bed. Classic low-rent bollocks that the British media seem to thrive on these days.....

I think the most important question here is why are we paying for MP’s to watch any films or TV, regardless of content.

Obviously we don't know the full circumstances but would it have hit the news if he had been watching historical documentaries?

Probably not, but it still asks the questions why does the tax payer pay for MP's personal entertainment?

Very true.... There is a story every week now about MPs and their second home allowance etc.

I'm sorry, and maybe this is too over simplisitc, but why can't they just buy a house (like everyone else) in their constincency - lots of us have to move to work... - and then Westminster set up a few deals with local hotels and they just stay there for £40-50 a night when in town?

Man watches porn shocker. Non news.

I think the bigger question here is how is this "Labour" government turning this country into a Big Brother Thought Police surveillance state.

As I understand it, it was a Virgin Media bill which was being claimed under expenses for home internet use. How much of that was of a pornographic nature is undisclosed at this stage.

Feel sorry for the husband having to take the blame, bet it wasn't even him.

First off she claimed it was a mistake (once is a mistake, twice is on purpose!) then he husband comes out and claims responsibility. Very suspect.

Couldn't care less if Jacqui Smith wants to watch porno, but she should pay for it herself, and even then it's still not news.

wasn't it revealed they tried to claim expense for 2 pornos, a viewing of Ocean's 13 and Surf's Up... I don't even think the porn is the most embarrassing!!!

The Telegraph's Investigative team have revealed Mr Timney bashed his bishop to: Raw Meat 3 (April 2nd) and By Special Request (april 6th)

Surprised it took so long for this story to emerge on here. I think it's hilarious.

It's because the media are digging furiously into MPs' expenses looking for dirt. Expect more stories to emerge in the coming weeks as the media attempt to: (a) keep the Labour sleaze story going; or (b) point out that it's both parties at it.

Had Jacqui Smith not been claiming for a second home, this is unlikely to have ever emerged. Of course it also allows us to gauge how often she does spend at her "primary" location of her sister's place and how often she lives at her "secondary" home with her husband (who is paid £40k to work for her) and kids.

i find it wierd how people are up in arms over the £8 she has claimed for the Bluies, but no-one complained when she claimed back £1,100 for buying the TV!

im sorry, but the limits need reducing then.

its only a second home she is supposed to use for work, i mean, how big a TV does £1.1k buy you, these days, does she really need one that big for a second home?

what i want to know is why is he paying for porn when he could get it free on the internet anyway. careless!
