Played 90 mins for Oxford (beat Posh 1-0) and played very well by all accounts...

Snippet 'Smith, industrious throughout, blasted in a shot from twenty yards on the hour which the flying Tyler tipped away...'

He had a few shots and 'deft' touches.

Well done Smithy! Keep fit and we'll see you back at the Blues in the Championship next season

More good news, really hope Jay does well at Oxford and then comes home.

yes, as i said in another thread i really hope he does well and can regain his form. we have the option to extend his contract so the door is still open for him to return

Good news. If we do make it we will need a larger squad than this year and Smith could be a part of that.

Smith is a quality player and it would be a shame to see him released so hopefully he puts in a good account of himself at oxford and tilly offers him a new contract, might be worth giving him a pay as you play deal

I think the club know what he can do. What I reckon they really want to see is if Jay can stay fit after a decent run of first team games.

Maybe.

Great little player. Hopefully he can get his form back ready for SUNDERLAND, IPSWICH and SOUTHAMPTON next season

Just saw this post on the 606 boards from an Oxford fan:

Quote[/b] ]This bloke is a different class, you must have some quality midfielders in your team if he can't get a game, he controlled the midfield today and stroked the ball about beautifully. If he carries on like that, we wont let you have him back! smiley

Great point.

In a way I hope he does move on. Its probably better for him to be playing first team football for someone else rather than sitting on our bench.

he didnt really get a look in once he got back fit- only started couple of games this season- mr big mouth has been doing the businness and keeping him(and bentley) on the sidelines.
would have been nice to have seen smith and benno last weekend in the midfield- in hindsight!
