I was told out of the blue today that Jeroen Boere sadly took his own life several years back.

Can anyone back this up?

If true was anything wrong?

So sad to hear this as I honestly didn't know. During his stint with us he was one I spoke to frequently.

Quite choked about this.

RIP Jerone.

After his pub ownership ended, Boere moved to Spain, in September, 2004, to work as a real estate agent. He died on 16 August 2007 at the age of 39.[SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6][/SUP] There are conflicting reports about the cause of death and place of death. Some media reported that Boere died in a car crash, possibly on Ibiza,[SUP][7][/SUP][SUP][8][/SUP] while other media reported that he was found dead in his home in Marbella.[SUP][9][/SUP] English newspaper Ilford Recorder stated that Boere had committed suicide.[SUP][10][/SUP]

Definitely remember hearing about this a year or so ago. Can't find anything on here though I'm sure it was discussed.

We had a minute's silence in memory of him before the home game with Millwall in August 2007.
