Without wanting to "do a BarnaBlue", David Conn's piece on Jorge Mendes in today's Grauniad is brilliant. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2011/jan/18/jorge-mendes-super-agent
In a nutshell, papers obtained by Portuguese courts have uncovered the extortionate fees that Mendes, who acted on behalf of Mourinho, Carvalho, Tiago and Paulo Ferreira, charged when they all were shipped to Chelsea. While the designated agent's fees were capped a €150,000, Mendes was then paid in excess of €1m for Carvalho, €1m for Ferreira and €350,000 for Tiago as extra payments to handle nominal tasks, such as to keep the player happy and make sure he attends training on time.
