Kiwi fruit make a very good meat tenderiser. Get a slightly squichy one, slice and put on meat for 20 minutes. Honest, it works a treat.

Random fact of the day, cats (& all felines e.g. tigers/lions) etc have a rough tongue so they can break down meat more easily before it goes through the internal digestion process.
