Rebuilding a Samsung laptop I was given (m/b, HD, both shot and the keyboard slightly bowed in the middle, though working.... Hmmmm ) but when I came to reinstall Windows 7, I discovered that a small tear in the Label meant I was missing the last two digits of the Key. Emailed Samsung and they replied promptly but said I'd have to buy a new O/S or take it to a Samsung authorised dealer who would charge me to install it, so pretty unhelpful.

As a long shot, I phoned Microsoft, and Ashish (my new Best Mate) asked me to send him a picture of the torn label, and within an hour he had emailed me a new Security Key at no charge. I had no idea they would do that for you, hats off to them for excellent customer service.
