I didn't get to go to Leigh Comm until about '76. Loved the discos back then when the boys used to do those great dances to 'At The Hop' which had been re-released that year. Went on for about a year or so after until I could get served in the Leigh pubs without a problem but I remember a great moment in the autumn of '77 when Dean Read did a fantastic mime dance to 'Spanish Stroll'.

Between 70-72, Disco's on a Fri night monthly. All the girls ( Doris's! ) dressed in Tonic jackets & skirts, fishnet tights & Loafers!. As Mary Hopkin sang..'Those were the days my friend' !.
God old Reggae & pre Disco songs in their infancy. Fantastic days, so many lovely memories, thank goodness i can still remember them!.
