Echo News League One proposal - now set for June 9 vote

Sunderland only have themselves to blame, they lost 2-0 to Bristol Rovers the match before lockdown, if they'd won that they'd be in the playoffs. We'd beaten Bristol Rovers 3-1 a few days previously.
True but with their squad and massive budget/wages how can you even be in a bun fight to get in/stay in the top 6 in L1?

They got rid of Jack Ross because he didnt get them up last season, I thought he did a good job seeing they were cuting wages and didnt want to play some players

What’s that coming over the hill it’s relegation. Sounds like the season is going to be cancelled and the PPG option taken.

:Frustrated:

They wasted all their money on Will Grigg (despite the owner being advised not to), if you look at who they signed this season it was just a bunch of free agents and the better players from last season all got snapped up by championship teams, Sunderland massively overspent last season on the arrogant assumption they'd go up and have spent this season desperately trying to balance the books. There was a rumoured Dell takeover at the start of the season but it turned out to actually be Sunderland getting a £9m loan from them with the stadium put up as collateral because the club was running out of money.
