the refs committee sent its three biggest ******* down to "tiny" Roots Hall hoping no-one would notice. The idiots were duly sussed out by the "small" crowd of ten and half thousand and as the decisions got worse and worse the pressure from the up close Shrimpers blew the officials last resemblance of competence and control. Leicester City of the Walker Stadium and Manderics millions were duly gifted the game with an offside goal and allowed to kill the game with the usual chat and prolonged injury capers.

It didn't matter cos the Blues continued to play with pride and passion and good passing football and chased a result when down to ten men after the super useless ref had sent Foran off for an innnocuos tired mistimed tackle that constituted a second yellow cos some Leicester player had done some rolling around earlier. Maher hobbled on after surviving another "tackle" and Freddy kept mixing it. King Freddy that is.

Like this the Blues seem unstoppable, like the second half at Hillsboro, just showing the opposition what they can really do and every Shrimper twenty quid is really being fought for.

A bad week for the club with the shenanigans off the pitch but out there on the green of Roots Hall everything that is good in football. The future is uncertain but the Shrimpers have it all, everything that really counts.

Pride and passion.

2-2

At full-time the ref and his linesmen went and stood in the centre circle - like rabbits in the headlights, paralysed and apparently scared. It was almost as if they were milking the boos and awaiting their security escort like stars on the red carpet.

What can you say about Freddy Eastwood - absolute magic - second goal came from him as well. The first, made a half yard from no-where, cast a spell on the keeper and pinged it in at the near post. Enjoy.

JCR - Jamal is on his game and tough. How does he look so unruffled by it all.

Richie Foran - less from his head and less in space. Looks short of endurance .
Now hes got himself a rest.

McCormack - watching him warming up at half time thought he was still not fit but once on was immense

Gower and Maher got a good grip of possession second half.

Hunt and Francis - they can play - but can they defend.

Sodje and Clarke - looking at the legitimate goal conceded it seems theres still to many unanswered questions when the ball gets in the box - and maybe Darryl has some part in that -

Strange atmosphere at half-time - teetering on the edge of unexpected resignation only being held together by all the other results being favourable to us - and then ten minutes later Freddy puts it all square and the place is electric.

i thought it was a massive display of guts and determination - and proves this squad have what it takes -

Sorry mate, Foran knew exactly what he was doing. It's only his first booking you might have a point with.

yep people who say that he shouldn't have been sent of cos the first wasn't a yellow are just plain stupid. He was booked, he knew he was on thin ice and then he makes a stupid (pointless) challenge and was rightly sent off. it was a real shame as he had a chance to play up front and wasted it

no problems with the second yellow - it was "clumsy" "mistimed" and "tactical"
but not dangerous or maliscious - but never saw the first

Which is why it was yellow and not a straight red.

The ref was not going to book Foran for the first one until at least 3 leicester players ran over and told him that he should........

I wasn't entirely sure what he had done wrong on the first but he seemed to have gone in over-zealously for a high ball. He certainly got lucky minutes earlier where he was, I think, late and high on a tackle that he seemed to mistime.

For the second card, if his man had got away, it would have been three on two at the back and we would have been in trouble. Personally, I think he kept us in the game by doing it.

Have to agree. I like Foran and think he'll be good for us. He wants to get forward and puts himself about but we'd all been pleading for him to play up front with Freddy and when he gets his chance he lasts about 5 minutes. I like his commitment but he must have had a bit of red mist to tackle from behind when already on a yellow.

Who will play on Saturday? It seems Bradders has been sussed, so will it be Prince Harry with Fred and the Moose instead of Foran? More likely Lee will be back up front but midfield is something to think about.

It wasn't red mist, it was a tackle he felt he had to make to stop a dangerous counter-attack.

Surely McCormack will replace Foran, with Gower switching back to the wing.

Hopefully Mac will be fully fit by Saturday. I think he was struggling to make the Leic'r game otherwise he wouldn't have been on the bench. I realise Foran made a decision to stop the bloke running through but it was the wrong one. He wasn't the last man and should have known he was taking a risk. But that's the way our luck is going at the moment. We get Clarky back and then Foran is out.

The reason he got booked for the fact had more to do with the fact he spent a couple of minutes screaming at the ref just before the inicident.

If he hadnt been so gobby he probably would have got away with it.

Yes, I think he's been going to the Maher school of tact!

heard a really good interview with tilly after the game and he said it was like playing 14 players, with one linesman who wouldnt put his flag up and the other who wouldnt put it down and a ref who didnt know what to do.

all too true.

i generally believe that fat ****e of a linesman took pleasure off trying to rob that game from us. when he put his flag up he looked so proud of himself
