Over 17,000 versus Palace in 75.
The QPR attendance was over 18,000 for the 2-2 draw. We came back from 0-2 down. What a noise!!!!!
A fair few Shrimpers at Loftus Road for the replay but to be fair we were outclassed 0-2.
got a lot of memories, about both games,at home, the first & only time, i was"hit"by a policeman with a truncheon,on the thigh, hurt like hell.we only wanted to say good-bye(at prit.station).at loftus rd,before the game, early.with pat.ch. boozing in a pub watching "the flintstones"!!! went into the qpr "end" ,early, with frankie.t,(gingers brother),waiting for all our fans, who said they would end up ,in that part of the ground.none turned up & were escorted out to the other end, near kick off,as we were "sussed".qpr are still a crap team, ground.fans& set up..

Believe it or not C.B used to have long hair like Brian Connolly the singer out of sweet then .
I always thought that he looked like Mick Ronson who played in David Bowies band in the early 70s .

About 6 of us went in the Loft JW (RIP) CW, JS, IS, JW (RIP) & me. Shame we did'nt see you, although i doubt 8 of us would have made a difference!. We stayed there for the whole game, obviously kept mute, and after walked up to the South Africa Rd end, where KF led the charge!.

Bob Jennings went in the Loft with some old Leigh Comm and met Reg Muldoon a QPR supporter who had been arrested at Brentford in 73 when a load of Southend got arrested ,Reg rememberd Bob and told him he had come to Southend on the Saturday and told him how well impressed with the North Bank they had been and was impressed with the Southend turn out that night .

Another away win at Gillingham was quite memorable was December 97. We went 1-0 down very early in the game and were still trailing with a couple of minutes remaining when the friend who had driven me there that day was pushing me for us to leave a little early as he was going to a Christmas function. I reluctantly walked to the back of the small terrace in the corner we were allocated looking back to the pitch more in hope than expectation when Bore (RIP) knocked in an equalizer that resulted in me running back down the terrace close to my original spot. Just a couple of minutes latter and now in stoppage Coulbault hit the winner. Both quite scrappy goals as I recall but not sure I have seen any other game were we were behind for approximately eighty five minutes but still won !.
i

This sticks out for me too. Probably more so because we were so bad around that time and we hadn't won away for ages.

I remember the players running into the front of the crowd when we scored the winner.

How about non-league and long ago. Some of those boys were tough.

Boreham Wood (h), AP Leamington (a) twice, Harlow (a), and Wealdstone (a) - boy did we get a good lesson in Wealdstone!

However, Ilford in 74 ..we had virtually the entire ground.

did not go to wealdstone & harrow, may have lived in germany or exeter then, but apl, twice, ilford and still to this day, boreham wood brings tears to my eyes, first time away fans were in our end...boreham bloody wood:angry:

remember that wellqpr fans came down, wanting to attack our fans, but things turned out differently.remember in the tube station, after the game, qpr fans being chased all over the place,we run round a corner, there was a qpr fan ,alone, about 14 years old, looked at us waved his blue&white scarf at us, then started tom "southampton,southampton"..we laughed like hell..paul.ev ,who was about the same age, wanted to give him a clip.but i stopped him..sadly the train from fenchurch st to southend was well wrecked, even at southend central, was trouble..mad days, but some things will never be forgotten, good mates, past & present

os,that was one of the better north bank "turn outs",the noise we made, all "paked" together, when we scored, everybody pushing ,shoes call over the place,it was top..still think at 2-2,we should have had a penalty!! qpr were a good team then, but i dont remember it being shown on tv,big match ,the next day??
