The Deputy Governer of the Bank of England is crossing his fingers and hoping the economy improves next year. I thought it was a joke the first time I heard it. For Gawd's sake. If he is crossing his fingers what hope is there for the rest of us ?

I'm now crossing my fingers that Emma Bunton get's fed up with her hubby and offers to be my live in slave. I'm also crossing my fingers that Mrs ORM has no problem with those arrangements.

But surely someone in his position should be saying things like 'we are doing our best to ensure that...' instead of 'right, fingers crossed, lets hope for the best!' :unsure:
