Looks like he's going back to Derby.

"Rams release four 12 May

Derby County boss George Burley has started to rebuild his squad by releasing four players and making goalkeeper Andy Oakes available for transfer.

Candido Costa will return to Porto after Burley decided not to extend his loan spell and Spanish striker Manel has been told that his short-term contract will not be renewed.

Reserve team players Jimmy Turner and Chris Palmer have also been told that they have no future at Pride Park.

Burley has further decided that Oakes' future lies away from Derby, despite him having 12 months left on his current deal, and has circulated his details to other clubs.

The Rams squad will be strengthened though by the return of Izale McLeod, Lee Camp, Gary Twigg and Lewis Hunt who have all been out on loan."

Don't believe it. Lewis told me last week he hadn't heard from Derby at all during his whole loan period- if they wanted to keep him they would probably have kept in regular contact...

think that maybe its just paper talk, just assumption that he will be returning! personally i think he will be a southend player next season! If derby wanted him back why would he be having talks with the chairman this week??

On the Sriv Official Site, Tilly says that it's not true that Hunt has returned to Derby and there's a 1 year contract on offer to him.

So there!

Hope he stays, he is a pretty versatile player and would definatly be a good addition to the squad!

besides if warren gets a contract warren will be in front of hunt in the centre back position, i would still miss him though because warren does seem to get injured alot and he is a excellent replacement

I'm not at all convinced that he looks out of place in midfield. Remember Derby used to use him as a wingback / full back so the fact that he has played most games for us in either centre defence or centre midfield, I don't reckon he's done too bad at all. He's definitely got the touch and composure to be versatile and makes a good berth for a more attacking midfielder to play alongside him.
