Limehouse Station

Ahoy,

Since my company relocated to Canary Wharf I occasionally find myself with a 20 minute wait at Limehouse station for the next train to Benfleet.

In this situation I would usually nip to the nearest pub and have a quick pint.

Unfortunately the nearest pub (The Railway) is an absolute dump with no redeeming features at all.

Can anyone recommend a decent pub in the area?

Also, has anyone actually visited Sonny and Terry's bar (next to a pub called the Bonaparte) which can be seen on the way in  to Limehouse?

I was wondering if it was anything like The Winchester Club from Minder but due to the fact that it doesn't have any windows I am not going to just walk in off the street in case it is filled with ex Kray/Richardson Lieutenants planning an aromoured car heist or something even more unsavoury.

The Oporto is at Westferry (about five min walk from limehouse), looks a mess but is quite friendly inside.

If i were you i would just jump on a train to Fenchurch Street and get on a train from there to Benfleet. Its a lot quicker and you will get a seat most probably.
