Has anyone on the site ever got anything out of Linked In? I add people I know from work & around, people add me....and that seems to be about it.....no recruitment agency has come knocking, and there's very little jobs of interest that are advertised on it.

What IS the point?

Fairly sure it got me in to the company I'm currently working at. My old boss, who I used to work with, is a right old LinkedIn stalker and I'm fairly certain the out-of-the-blue approach I had from him a couple of years ago was down to that.

Generally speaking though, that site is a ****show.

I am contacted by recruiters several times a day.

That said do my deals down at the lodge or in the nineteenth hole.

Yep, necessary evil in my industry.

Just remembered that I used to work with a girl from Chile and the way she said it, it came out as 'Linky Din'.

My first proper job. Wouldn't say that's too bad.

Had to do a whole presentation on it when I was studying in Spain, they all looked very confused as I was talking about "LinkedIn" and then went onto the slide with the logo and almost everyone in the room went "ohhhh linky-din!".

Linked In must be great if you like stalking people with a job.

On Gacebook you are never sure if the person posting is sitting in front of cash in the attic eating milk tray.
