Loanee Watch 2019/20

Level 5
-

Level 6
Henry Burnett played 87 minutes for Tonbridge at Oxford (City rather than next week’s opponent, United). Elliot Benyon was up front for Oxford but the Angels ran out 3-0 winners. The third came after Burnett was subbed.

Level 7
O’Shane Stewart started for Merstham against Enfield. Former Shrimper starlet Lyle Della Verde scored Enfield’s third in their 4-1 win.

Level 8
Sam Brogan and Freddy Eastwood were on the bench for Mark Bentley’s Canvey. Eastwood came on after 70 minutes with the score 1-1. Canvey soon fell behind to a penalty but equalised to grab a point.

No Zak Pianim for Brentwood

Not a great update with all young Shrimpers in action subbed in the 45th minute

Level 6
Henry Burnett came off injured in Tonbridge’s match over the weekend just before half-time with the score 0-0. Tonbridge won 1-0. Let’s hope the injury is nothing serious.

Level 7
O’Shane Stewart was subbed Sunday just before half-time with relegation threatened Merstham 3-0 down to play-off placed Cray Wanderers. Merstham pulled one back second half.

Level 8
No Zak Pianim again for Brentwood. His loan appears to be over.

Canvey’s Match v Cambridge City was postponed. They played a friendly v Barking instead.

The big news is that Reiss Chandler has turned up at Harlow after our friendly there. He started but Harlow lost 5-1.

Freddy Eastwood and Sam Brogan both started for Canvey at home to Great Wakering. Freddy Jr went off after 85 minutes with Canvey 2-0 down, which was the final score.

No Zak Pianim for Brentwood or O’Shane Stewart for Merstham.

2019/20 summary

National League - level 5
Michael Klass made 5 starts and 12 sub appearances in the Conference for Bromley. He also made a sub appearance in the FA Cup. He's out of contract and hasn't apparently reported back. Bromley were early pace-setters but fell away to finish 13th.
Harry Seaden sat on the bench for Dagenham a number of times and played two FA Trophy games. He also had a loan spell at Cambridge City (see below).

National League South - level 6 - and the division our new manager got promoted from this season

Statistics are weirdly harder to come by here than for levels 7 and 8
Rob Howard played 6 times for Dartford and then an unknown amount for Braintree. Dartford finished 6th with 56 points from 34 games, some 7 points behind third placed Weymouth who played a game more. Braintree finished 21st with 35 points from 35 games.
Tom Clifford played 15 times for Concord, scoring one goal. Concord finished 16th with 37 points from 32 games.
Harry Phillips joined Billericay and then didn't play. Billericay finished one place below Concord/
Henry Burnett played 4 times for Tonbridge after joining us. Tonbridge finished 15th. Burnett was released in the summer.

I don't think Molesley managed against any on loan Shrimpers.

Isthmian Premier - level 7
O'Shane Stewart was our only participant at this level. He had loan spells at two clubs in this division, appearing 9 times for Margate with one goal and then 4 games for Merstham. Margate finished 12th with 43 points from 33 games, whilst Merstham were relegated with 25 points from the same number of matches.

Isthmian South Central - level 8

We had 4 loanees in the Isthmian South Central, all at Harlow. Three of them went onto play for our firsts.

Terrell Egbri and Miles Mitchell-Nelson both played 24 games. Egbri scored 6 goals and Mitchell-Nelson once. Matt Rush played 12 times scoring 8 goals before being promoted to the first team squad at Southend.
Reiss Chandler joined on loan some time this year and played 4 times before covid curtailed the season.
Harlow finished 14th with 34 points from 29 games.

Isthmian North - level 8
Jon Benton made 7 appearances for Great Wakering, scoring 3 goals before he fractured his foot in November. Great Wakering finished 7th.
Zak Pianim made 17 appearances for Brentwood, scoring twice. It's not clear that he's been retained by the club.
Ide Osimeh made 11 appearances Brentwood. Brentwood struggled and finished 17th of 20 teams with 26 points from 28 games.
Sam Knock made 4 appearances for Hullbridge before injury curtailed his season. Hullbridge finished a spot above Brentwood with 2 more points from a game less.
Harry Seaden made 2 appearances for Cambridge City. Cambridge finished 9th.
Freddy Eastwood Jr made 9 appearances for Canvey scoring one goal. The now third year scholar had his spell interrupted with paperwork issues. Canvey finished 10th with 38 points from 27 games.
Sam Brogan made 1 appearance for Canvey
