Anyone know of any locally produced beers or breweries? I think there is a Brentwood brewery but is there any closer to our Seaside town?

Any recommendations?

Doesn't the Pipe of Port serve a local/home brew ??? NATS I think it's called... I'm serious ... first time I saw it I associated it with NATS **** but can assure you it isn't :dizzy:

I was thinking about this the other week, weird how there isn't that much going on in the estuary area. In Sheffield there are 6 local brewers, and at least another 4 out in the Peak District. It'd be great for the craft-brew/micro-brew scenery to grow in Essex/Southend.

Heres to that idea:cheers:

Well there is a real ale shop opened up in hockley I am sure they can help advise you x

Vens Real Ales. I've been meaning to go and take a look as I work just down the road, will endeavour to go and take a look one lunch hour this week. According to their twitter feed they specialise in ales from Essex & Suffolk breweries and home brewing gear.

George's Brewery in Great Wakering does some cracking beer, The Old Trout in town always has 1 or 2 of them on tap.

I was in the Trout on Saturday night, great pub to have a chat with your mates and a few real ales  Is the Trout Ale their own?

Trout Ale is from George's Brewery, don't know if its specifically brewed for the pub or not.

Had a drop of their Brewers Gold before the game on Saturday. It was better than the game, to be honest.

Had Brewers Gold at a pub in brick lane (or just off) some time ago... a nice drop it was. Has won a few awards i think
