Can anyone tell me who has spent the longest in division 3? had a mass debate about this over a digestive and tea yesterday and it's getting on my nerves.
Torquay?
Darlington?
Carlisle?
...
many thanks in advance.

Torquay - I think they were promotoed to Division 2 (old Division 3) late 80's early 90's though I may be wrong.

Darlington - They were relegated to the The Conference early 90's but bounced straight back up at the first time of asking.

Carlisle - Promoted to Division 2 mid to late 90's and relegated straight back to Division 3 first time.

Cheerz

Rochdale it is.
I remember reading the book about the Dale, Kicking in the wind, excellent read if you haven't browsed through it, if we beat them, and if Carlisle win....maybe their record won't stand for long?

I believe Carlisle were promoted 96/97 season to 2nd division. Didn't something happen to Southend that season?

I'd go along with Rochdale - they were relegated in the early 70's and have stayed there ever since. I remember this cos they went down in style, winning only 2 games all season - home to Shrewsbury (who went down with them) and away to er, Southend. Another fine moment in the history of our beloved club....

Torquay have been there a very long time though and Sc**thorpe for quite a while.
