Any MOT chaps around?

Can a motor fail a MOT for a damaged drivers side wing mirror?

I can still see out of it, it just has a crack running through it and the casing is damaged a bit.

It also has the indicator light in it, which still works, but it has lost the little piece of white glass at the bottom that keeps it tucked away.

I once had a motor fail its MOT because one of the suckers had gone on my Garfield and my Magic Tree had run out.

It can't fail the MOT as long as the glass is not cracked in such a way that it obstructs the view of the rear but your casing is broken therefore deemed dangerous as it has sharpe edges and could cause harm to predestians.

Only if you hit them. And I would suggest that if a car hit a pedestrian sharp edges on a wing mirror would be the least of their problems!
