A really boring game, don't bother watching the highlights, there aren't any.

Morris - 7 - Commanded his box well and wasn't really tested

Clohessy - 6.5 - Defended reasonably well and was always a quick outlet.

Barker - 6 - Not at his best, gifted Macclesfield a chance where he was caught in possession, just like on Good Friday against Stevenage

Mohnsi - 7.5 MOTM - Very dominant in the air and played with a calm head. Positionally still a little erratic but definitely learning

Prosser - 7 - Much better than the Stevenage game

Hall - 6 - Huffed and buffed and stung the keepers hands with a drilled free kick, however never really unlocked the defence

Grant - 6 - Another below-par game from Granty

Easton - 6 - Was a passenger for large parts of the game

Sawyer - 7 - The only midfielder who really wanted to get his foot on the ball and work it. Popped up across the midfield and was full of energy

Corr - 6.5 - Battled hard and good work outside the box but fluffed his lines when given a couple of half chances

Crawford - 5.5 - Very quiet, I don't see anything that suggests he'll make it in League football sadly

Subs:

Coughlan - 6 - Typical performance

Sturrock - 6 - Neat touches but didn't have the impact he had on Friday.

Ref - 8 - Probably the best ref I've seen this season, although he had a very easy job. Kept a lid on things and enjoyed some banter with the Southend fans. For a tubby guy he did a good job of keeping up with play.

Just got back, what a pointless 90 minutes, so dull. In the end we were kind of lucky when Macclesfield hit the bar. The team just seemed to be coasting through it.

There was probably about 150 Shrimpers there.

208 Southend fans including my party were in attendance at a game where the atmosphere was more like a library, if it had not been for those Southend fans that sang all afternoon. As for the game it had 0-0 written all over it, I thought we did push on in the last 15 mins to look for a winner without troubling their goalkeeper too much.

Morris 7 - Calm and assured, odd handling problem on bumpy pitch but always in control.
Clohessy 6 - Has stopped trying to beat his man when attacking lately, therefore crosses coming in too early to impact.
Mohsni 7 - Steadier than last time, won a lot in the air and held his position better
Barker 6 - Looked shaky, got dispossessed when in space, must be carrying a knock as was substituted.
Prosser 6.5 - Looks at home, adds height to the back, we are not conceeding goals, needs to work on distribution a bit.
Grant 6 - Steady performance, just seems not to bust a gut at the moment.
Easton 5.5 - Very quiet and passing was not as good as usual.
Sawyer 7.5 - MOTM, drove us forward and was always looking to be positive when in possession.
Hall 7 - Tried hard, did not quite come off, but always looked threatening
Corr 6.5 - Put himself about, won headers, very consistent this season
Crawford 5 - No impact, those that get on Blairs back at the Hall and call for Crawford, i don't see it, we were much improved after the substitution.

Sturrock 6.5 - Links the play much better and the ball sticks up top with Blair.
Coughlan 6.5 - Not too much to do
Ferdinand 6 - Only had a couple of minutes on the pitch.
