It’s the first of a run of Tuesday night games with a trip to Berkshire to face Maidenhead United for the rearranged game originally postponed due to a frozen pitch a few weeks ago.

Alan Devonshire’s team are in mixed form at the moment but got a creditable 1-1 draw at Bromley on Saturday. Hopefully their pitch will be in better condition than Roots Hall’s as this will be their first home game since New Year’s Day following a run of 5 consecutive away games. They had quite a few familiar faces in their 16 man squad on Saturday so we can expect to see Emile Acquah (who scored on Saturday), Kane Ferdinand, Ashley Nathaniel-George, Sam Barratt and Shaun McCoulsky at some point.

It will be interesting to see if Kev keeps an unchanged side after Saturday’s hard fought win against York, or if he chooses to rotate the squad to rest tired legs. I thought a few players faded in the second half on Saturday and maybe he could have made the changes a bit earlier.

So who would you choose to start on Tuesday evening and what do you predict the result will be?

A tough game ahead. Maidenhead are no pushover and Acquah is in a rich vein of form. I'll be content with a draw, but on the other hand Murphy must eventually find his scoring touch with all the chances he has been getting. Jack Bridge will enjoy playing on a good pitch for the first time for a while (assuming it isn't frozen of course). Maidenhead don't go in for the dark arts that Boreham Wood and others practice so I'm looking forward to a good, fairly clean match.

Had planned to go, but simply can't afford it; for me it's an overnight stay, and Jan is the month of bills.
So, it's £9.50 down and cheering/ranting at the screen.
Could do with a hand from Halifax and Oldham, and Emile to play like he did for us!

I wonder if Hyde might come in for this one?

Having not started for a year it would be a big ask to then get Murphy to start twice in 4 days. We might therefore see Hyde and Murphy rotated for the foreseeable future. With our fixtures backed up we’ve a lot of midweek games. No two players are identical but there are a lot of similarities with them both being players whose main attribute is their movement around the box which makes them more interchangeable than most. The only trouble is Hyde might not be ready to start himself - his longest runout since injury was 10 minutes. If he’s not ready Powell is Cardwell’s likely partner. He did score against Maidenhead last time out.

I reckon we'll join you in the streaming stuff. Not brilliant, but by the time we would get back from Maidenhead it would be well past my bedtime. There is also the little matter of being 60 quid better off by avoiding coach travel and entrance costs.

Same here, it’s IPad steaming for me

I feel like going into the Four Yorkshiremen sketch from Monty Python.
"£60! Luxury!"
It would be close to £200 from down here in Cornwall and back.
Travelodge were asking £70 a month ago!

Work commitments mean I'll be taking the streaming route too.
I’m the opposite, got a meeting in Westminster that finishes at 6.00 so think it will be quicker to get to Maidenhead than home to Chelmsford.

Also the fact that my daughter and her boyfriend, who live in Bristol, are going and pointed out that this could be the last opportunity for us to watch Southend United together made me make the effort to attend.

Does anyone know if Maidenhead TV with the national league thing will have commentary? Only home games so far have had comms.
