As a general point ,and not referring to the exact example you have given, I personally do not see the issue with 'keyboard warriors' or whatever you want to call them . Some people are timid, some people do not like to argue, some people are scared of conflict. The internet gives them a voice. If they are stating what they really truely believe then good for them . If you think about it logically. without this the lounder, more confident , and dare I say more agressive people get a louder voice simply becasue they are that type of person. It doesn't make their view any more/less valid that the timid guy who is scared to speak up

just my 2p worth.

No problem with that at all. It's the one's who lord it over people with this smug attitude.

A more constructive chant would be

Come and buy us, come and buy us, come and buy us millionaire, come and buy us, come and buy us, please rid of us of Ron's hair

You could always add a few rounds of "Bouffant Out" at the end if you feel it's too tame

hahaha! :hilarious:

Lets look at the names of some clubs that have gone into administration

One thing they all had in common. Ron Martin was not in charge of any of them.

Running a football club and maintaining the hopes and aspirations of it's supporters while at the same time keeping a tight reign on the purse strings is a tuff job. Many more clubs will be added to this list over the coming years and yes we could be one of them. Ron some times is unable to pay wages and has to lay some staff off. Does he do it out of spite or does it break his heart to have to let his employees down. So while he struggles and robs Peter to pay Paul and some how keeps us going. Some Cretin turns up for one match and chants Martin out!! Well done that man, glad to have you as a loyal fan.

So your defence is to compile a list of clubs who have been worse run than us....thats rather like saying heres a list of murderers so armed robbers are ok cos there not as bad.....why not attempt a list of clubs doing better than us?
Does it break Rons heart not to pay staff or pay them late?....clearly it doesnt as he uses this as an option far too often.
I do agree with you that Ron is struggling, and by virtue of that the club struggles.....he is out of his depth and has been for the last four years, and if it wasnt for Sainsburys we most certainly would have been in administation or worse.
If Ron cannot do this on his own he should be seeking outside investment against the pot of gold that is potentially fossets.
oh and can you drop the personal insults to other posters, it only highlights your lack of ability to put forward a reasoned argument.

Is it an option? He doesn't seem to have a choice.

In response to the original idea of this thread, maybe we all have a part to play. When these children behind the goal start chanting RM out rather than support the team, maybe we should out sing them from where ever we sit. I sit in east yellows and this season the support has been excellant and mainly positive. It seems odd that the chanting always starts when we go a goal down, however, when winning nothing but positive chanting. So in the minds of these fans it appears when we are winning there are no problems, but as soon as we go a goal down its all RM fault. Stupidity at its best!!!

As long as he doesnt try and secure outside investment then yes, its an option.

And I don't think that would ever be public knowledge unless it was to come off. About as commercially sensitive as it comes...

How do you know he hasn't tried?

Well if he has tried, he hasn't tried hard enough.

Clubs that are desperately seeking a new investor/owner whatever, usually have the story covered by every single media outlet known to man.

I have not seen anything of the sort concerning our club.

It's like if you wanted to sell your car. You wouldn't just text round a few mates asking them if they wanted it would you?...

You would clearly advertise it everywhere you could.

I for one would love to see Ron put the club up for sale publicly. It may even help him to win over a few of the "dissenters" at least then he would be seen to be doing something positive, to get the club out of trouble. Rather than taking the win or bust route, he appears to be taking at present.

At least it would give the fans a little hope. Some alternative. If no viable party steps forward, then perhaps it may help those currently against the man, channel their support in a more positive way.

Slightly different to selling a house. Going public with the news that you can't cover payment of your Grandiose Plan unless you attract further investment might increase your chances of getting a new partner, but it also sets all the alarm bells ringing at the firms you are lining up to build your new project, and at the businesses you are trying to persuade to occupy it. I can see good reasons not to broadcast to the world that you are coming up short on a deal like this.

Sure. But do you really think anyone involved in the FF development does not already know, we are skint and seriously struggling on a day to day basis?

Details like that are freely available over the entire interweb.

But potential investment/partnership requires a little bit more info than what's available in the Echo/SZ.

You mean like a full report into how solvent we are?.....our anniual accounts would reveal that.

It's not the SUFC accounts that they'd be interested in, but the myriad of companies that actually own us.

historic, yes.

All of which would be fairly bleak reading...unless you are aware of a Company that Ron is involved in that is doing well.
Add to that the negative press that Ron has had over the last 4 years and the only card he would appear to have left is Fossetts which cant happen with out the football club.
Why would he not want to public to seek investment?

There is a big difference between being suspected of something and actually admitting to it. Ask Lance Armstrong and Jimmy Shagille.
