As per Cricko's Tarantino thread, a Seany's quite insane (:stunned:) score on 7/10 for Goodfellas, which, in the opinion of the SZ public is his best work?

I can't decide between Goodfellas, Taxi Driver or Raging Bull.......Hmmmmm

Has to be Casino for me. Just for that scene with the baseball bats and the shallow grave

Mob buffs will know Nicky Santoro played by Joe Pesci is based on Anthony 'The Ant' Spilotro who was actually killed in these circumstances.

His one time lawyer, Oscar Goodman had a cameo in the film and is now mayor of las Vegas.

Sharon Stone did her level best to ruin Casino and it isn't a patch on Goodfellas.

There is some great dialogue in the film though.

Hey, I'm not square, you're the one that's square. Your full of ****, man. What are you talking about? You walk out with those ****in' creeps and low-lifes and degenerates out on the streets and you sell your little pussy for peanuts? For some low-life pimp who stands in the hall? And I'm square? You're the one that's square, man. I don't go screwing **** with bunch of killers and junkies like you do. You call that bein' hip? What world are you from?

Taxi Driver for me. Just the gradual unwinding of his character is immense.

The days go on and on... they don't end. All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention, I believe that one should become a person like other people.

''Some day a real rain's gonna come...''

For bringing Paul Schrader's Travis Bickle to the big screen, it has to be 'Taxi Driver' for me. 'Raging Bull' is pretty damn tasty too, mind...

Raging Bull.

I also really liked Bringing Out The Dead but I seem to be in a minority there.

Raging Bull would probably get my vote as the greatest film of all time, let alone the greatest Scorsese film. It's just a brilliant character portrayal.
