With the freezing temperatures forecast to persist around the south east of England over the next few days and having had their Saturday afternoon home game called off because of a frozen pitch, there must be some doubt as to whether Tuesday evening’s game at Maidenhead will go ahead or not. Nevertheless we’d better have a pre-match thread just in case!

Maidenhead’s league form hasn’t been great of late, shipping 3 goals and losing to both Scunthorpe and Altrincham since the turn of the year, although they did win 2-0 at the Daggers in the FA Trophy.

Alan Devonshire’s side has a plethora of ex-Shrimpers in his squad - Kane Ferdinand, Emile Acquah, Sam Barrett, Ashley Nathaniel-George and Shaun McCoulsky were all in the match day 16 for their last league game, so let’s hope the curse of the ex-player doesn’t come back to haunt us.

For the blues, the selection issues are much the same as they were for the Oldham game. An unchanged team seems most likely, albeit with every training session that passes by, those players returning from injury like Gus Scott-Morriss, Rhys Murphy and Jake Hyde must be getting fitter and stronger and closer to a recall. What they really need though is game time on the pitch and the weather recently hasn’t helped that.

The silver lining is perhaps that the postponed games will be played when hopefully some of the longer term injured players - particularly Steve Arnold - will be available for selection. The more games we can play with Steve between the sticks, the better IMHO so let’s hope he’s fighting fit for for the business end of the season.

You know what to do with your predictions etc., let’s hope for a big thaw in Berkshire before Tuesday night so that they will be more meaningful than the ones for last Saturday!

Highly likely I'm afraid. The milder weather we have been promised by the forecasters is now delayed until Wednesday. The only hope is the lack of high stands at Maidenhead and the sunshine forecast for Monday and Tuesday, but the sun is still low in the sky.

Yes, only a few miles away and it is -6 here with Monday not looking much better. -2 Tuesday morning….

More time to get the players back.

End of the season will be interesting…
The end of season will be very interesting if we have any fit players around many of our players won’t be up to playing Tuesday & Saturday on some of the national league poor pitches

I think you can count us in with them, i hate to think what ours will look like in a months time.

Watching the weather forecast earlier. North Scotland will be hitting highs of 10 to 12 degrees and the south east lucky to get much above freezing.

Madness

Yep we have 8 degrees in Glasgow today.........balmy as it was -4 on Friday !

3 degrees highest tomorrow and Tuesday and back down a zero at 8pm on Tuesday night.

Plenty warm enough back in the day, but not these days. No chance of this being on unless the forecast changes.

Given the weather forecast no chance of them taking an early decision to play on Wed evening instead - I know its not as easy as just saying let's play Wednesday as you need staff l, officials etc - but could help avoid fixture congestion later on

That's exactly what Woking have done, moved it to Wednesday. Got it sorted nice and early. Making fans wait again is ridiculous. Plus, a postponement means trying to fit in another fixture further down the line. If they could move it to Wednesday, that would be good for all concerned.

Just looked at current temperature in Maidenhead -7, no chance of game being played any day this week. Staying lower than other parts all week.
Forecast I saw for maidenhead said rain and temps about +5 for Wed day/evening
