Match Tonight

Yea, I live in Grantham (about 30 mins from Lincoln) and it was p**sing down ALL day yesterday - woke up this morning and it is still hoying it down...

To be honest, I'd be VERY suprised if the game goes ahead

I suspect the area is prone to flooding and according to the Met Office radar, there is plenty of rain still to come! I would advise that you contact Lincoln City FC before leaving to establish how it is looking...

On the plus side, if the pitch gets waterlogged... there's a firestation just up the road IIRC and I am sure they will save the day!

I'm in Huntingdon, which is about 50 minutes away and it is hammering it down still and has been since about 7 oclock last night!

What are the chances of it being called off do we think?

It's just stopped raining [barring a few spots] in Leigh, but the cloud bringing this rain stretches right down to northern Spain, so I wouldn't count on too many dry spells today... SKY & BBC both predict persistent rain right up the East Coast of England!

It's absolutely ****ing it down in London still - it didn't start until after I'd gone to bed last night but it's black as pitch out there right now, tipping it down.

If this is moving north then you're all in deep sh*t

Apparently there is no problem, we have revamped the pitch last two years adding a new drainage system. Talks of fining up later aswell.

I will keep you informed.

Have you cut the grass in those two years?

It is actually a very nice pitch now, the grass was only ever long in John Becks day.

And two years ago in 2002/3 when Rob Newman almost put in a complaint about the surface - although apparently the referee reported that it was dead on the maximum allowed length. Last year your fans helped keep it down by trampling all over it when Simon Yeo netted his last-gasp equaliser.

It was after that season when the whole pitch was dug up, after we raised over £100 000 to get a new once. He always had a good moan about us did Mr. Newman.

Have they fixed the air raid siren yet? when I haven't gone to the match... I have listened to it on the radio and always knew when your lot had a corner!

The air raid has finally reached it's retirement, it seemed to lose vital sound in it's latter years before finally conking out. It was a strange ornement but very unique!
