"Since the departure of Andy Poulston, Billericay Town FC have secured the services of Matt Jones for the job of Assistant Manager. 33 year old Matt comes to Billericay from Chelmsford FC and started his career with Southend United as a full time apprentice in 1987. His football career includes playing for Chelmsford, Heybridge, St. Albans and Dagenham & Redbridge, with whom he won promotion to Conference as Ryman Premier Champions in the 1999 / 2000 season. An experienced defender at Non League level, he is a very good friend of Justin Edinburgh and was at Southend United with him. His attitude and commitment compliments the positive atmosphere which has developed down at New Lodge since Steve Kent took over the reins. He, with Justin, is very much looking forward to next season's challenge."
