Matt Lund

Signed for Bradford.. announced in one of the worst videos I’ve ever seen.

Didn't stay at Burton very long - has now signed for Scunthorpe.

Mantom or Lund -who has got the better player?

Was about to compare but the first thing I looked at stunned me. I can't believe Lund is older than Mantom.

Thought he was a kid when he was here, he was 23 then and is 27 now. Mantom's only 26 and I thought he was older.

Playing for Salford in the League Two Play-off semi-final against Stockport, skies his penalty in the shoot-out.

Mantom league 1, are you sure
Absolutely—very talented—he’d played for England as a youngster—we had him on loan first and were more than impressed. That first season with us, his midfield marauding was a delight to watch. We later persisted in pairing him with Tim Dieng in midfield without any ball winner like Deegan,Timlin,Butler…to back up their skills. Mantom,in particular, then came in for shedloads of ridiculous criticism, which most probably persuaded him to quit.

All his league appearances (all 246 of them, across 5 clubs (including 2 loan spells as a youngster)) were at L1 level.

It must be quite rare these days for a player to play that many games at the same level.

(To keep it on topic Matt Lund’s career has been split between L1 and L2 with 144 appearances in L1 and 174 in L2).
