Maybe we need to learn from what Wise said

President
The only difference between us and some of the teams so far this season is twisting the vital decisions in our favour and learning to be a bit more "professional" (ie. cheat slightly)

Time wasting when we're ahead (Ipswich)
Mysteriously getting cramp (Coventry)
Playing 10 at the back to grind out a result via set pieces (Palace)

We don't like it, but that style of "play" seems to win you time, composure and points in this league.

Maybe the underdogs need to start frustrating their opponents out of games, rather than going guns blazin' for them...

though having said all this, I agree with Kris' post about JCR's pace aleviating some of the pressure on the team. We desperately need an outlet.

Now if the boy could learn to pass - or dare i say it... shoot?

This is something I have noticed big time in ''The Championship'', much more professional in the wrong way.

I do long for us to have a Dave Martin type character, crunching in. We are too respectful. Bentley was not afraid to put the boot in and Guttridge was not beyond snapping away at people's ankles last season but has been a different story this time round.

yeah. i expect at least 3 yellow cards per game from our central midfielders!

guts obviously isn't on form...

I agree with you mate...

But what are our tactics? I can't work it out.
At Palace we went 1-0 and then kept pushing forward, especially the full backs - that can't be the right tactic against a club that was 4 divisions higher than us 2 years ago.

Against Hull, we played 2 defenders in midfield and held a pretty deep line all game. Even when they had ten men...

It's not just being more "professional", it's employing the right tactics at the right time. In L1 and L2, you can get away with it. In the Championship, teams seem to be much more aware and seem to be far more flexible tactically than us.

Yeah, many a post-match pint this season has revolved around baffling substitutions and our tendency to make the wrong formation decisions at the wrong time.

Who's in charge of that do you think? Brush? Tilson? Maher?

Whoever it is, maybe needs to get a bit more vocal...
We also leak goals at similar times (eg. within 5 minutes of a restart or taking the lead).

Then the heads drop, and the game is over...

God knows.

Agreed, someone needs to be more vocal.
A strong case for Spinner at the back. Abit of experience and a leader.

Considering the injuries we have at the moment and the tally of yellow cards on the increase I don't think getting nasty is perhaps the answer.
A sniper atop the floodlights in the north east corner! Now there's an option Tilly should seriously think about.

£975.00 for a converted AK47 with sight and silencer. £2.500 to a ****ed up chav from Leyton and Bob's ya uncle.....job done:)
