Michael Schumacher to take over Massa seat?

Misleading title there, he has said he would consider it if he was asked....

*applies match to blue touch-paper*

No - because, it's not really a proper sport anyway.

;)

Took the words right out of my mouth...

I'm sure, if you asked nicely, the powers that be might start a "Hobbies Discussion" section to the board. And while you're at it, you can throw the Darts and Horse Racing in there as well.

I can drive a car. Doesn't make me an Athlete...

Have a quick read of this and it will explain, I doubt as the article says, that there is another SPORT that pushes the heart to 180bpm for a prolonged period of approx 90 mins.

I can think of something but its not considered a sport.

F1 drivers are probably one of the fittest athletes around, much more than footballers are or have to be.

I can understand the necessity to be light in order to aid the car, but I somehow find it hard to believe that F1 drivers will have better peak flow, vo2 max and windgate results than a professional footballer.

If you ned to be fitter than a professional footballer to race an F1 car then I wouldn't hold out too much hope for Schumacher - he's got more of a belly than Akinfenwa!!

F1 drivers are incredibly fit and unlike Footballers.....they do not get a break/rest thought out the entire race, a footballer gets a multitude of opportunities to run on 50% or even 25% were as an F1 driver has to be at 100% both mentally and physically for the compete duration of the race.
