The difference being of course that Lenihan is two years younger than Leonard, has two years left on his deal instead of one, and has more than 50 appearances in the second tier.

I'd be very surprised if Lenny is on 50k. If say around 80k+ would be nearer the mark.

Maybe with win, goal and selection bonuses, but the basic is all that is contracted and all that needs to be taken into account. Anyhow, even if it is £80k, that's still over £400k as a premium. Players with a lot of experience and lots of clubs, people to be able to advise.
