Our last six home matches with Millwall have produced just a miserly 5 goals (two 0-0s, three 1-0s and a 2-0) and the last Southend player to score against Millwall at home was Nicky Bailey, some three "dream moves" ago.

Anyway, the referee in charge of tomorrow's match is third year official, James Adcock a 29 year old PE teacher from Long Eaton in Nottinghamshire.

He will be making his third Roots Hall appearance, his first being in what we hoped would be the final match of the season before last against Macclesfield at home. We won and he cautioned Timlin and a couple of theirs.

More recently, he refereed last season's dire 0-0 against York. He did rather well and there were no cards.

He refereed the Conference Play Off final a few years ago between AFC Wimbledon and Luton in front of nearly 20,000 supporters. In his first ever League match, a Development (trial) appointment, he sent off three players (2 from Maccs, 1 from Wycombe) in stoppage time.

He is getting loads of Championship appointments and his card count is average with 53 yellows and 3 reds from 16 games.

His assistants are Paul Harris from Maidstone and Gavin Muge from Bedford with Adrian Sannerude from Lowestoft as 4th Official.

That's because neither team tackled..............................

I didn't question his parentage once which is very unusual for me so he must have been good

Thought the ref & his linemen managed the game very well in tricky conditions got all the big decisions right, come back again!

Third game in which we have had a good official's performance. The ref's team got everything about right; the sending off was harsh but the player (Easter?) had to go as he went for the stamp and then had second thoughts but couldn't quite stop his actions although he tried to. The yellow for Bailey was always going to happen however my only criticism is that both yellows to Atko and Lennie were harsh and felt a bit like the ref was trying to show a balance. The game flowed and they understood the conditions... proper professionals and talked to players and Mr Brown at times.

That was a very good performance, in dreadful conditions. The referee was tested and dealt with it. Atko's yellow was harsh, Leonard's wasn't. Sending off all day long..... I like the way he dealt the trash being thrown at him by their skipping and Bailey. Didn't bat an eyelid. Well done.

best ref I have seen all season so much better than Lord Football.......he's rubbish

No complaints from me, had the measure of several of ****tu's team-mates and let him know about it.

Best refereeing performance of the season! If only more league referees could reach (and maintain) this standard!

Was close to the Easter sending off (East Blacks), was 100% a straight red deliberate or not. Easter had studs up, appeared to stamp on Coker who had already gone down and had slid off he pitch, and there was definately contact between easter's boot and Coker's back.

Even Bailey was pulled into line after his well deserved yellow and some timely words... Can't argue with the yellows for any of our players either.
