Just started work on a project in Manchester, and one of the stations involved is the delighfully named "Flowery Field".

So, I googled said name, expecting a picturesque little village, full of cuddly northerners and I got....

In this area there are many incidents of anti-social behaviour. The most serious known is the gang war between The teenagers of Dukinfield and Newton which Flowery Field is a part of.

Sounds more like South Central LA :stunned:

Anyone know of anywhere else so badly named?

Ooh bitchy .. Great Wakering is very nice

Even if you're correct (you might be, I haven't been there for years) you didn't call it "great" did you!

:winking:

(On another positive note it seems SZ is now working properly in my PC again - I can quote and use smilies!)

Shoeburyness.

Most of the residents wear cheap trainers rather than smart brogues or court shoes.

There's a road near me called Faggots Close...I've never ventured in there...

Southend...

Gives you the impression we may be inhabited with southern folk but a more appropriate name may be 'Polend' or we could just twin with Poland itself...
