Mitchell Cole Memorial Match - Tuesday 7th May at Stevenage Borough, Broadhall Way. Kick off 7pm.

Stevenage FC is pleased to announce details of the benefit game for Mitchell Cole.

The match, between a Stevenage XI and a Mitchell Cole XI, will take place on Tuesday 7th May at The Lamex Stadium with a 7pm kick-off.

Mitchell, who sadly passed away last December of a heart condition, was a key figure for Boro during a three and a half year period which saw the club enjoy great success, with the winger making nearly 150 appearances and scoring 22 goals. He also played for Grays Athletic, Southend, Northampton, Oxford, Stotfold, Hitchin, Biggleswade and Arlesey Town during his career.

Tickets for this game will be £10 for adults and £5 for U18s, with proceeds being split between the Cole family and its chosen charity, The Cardiomyopathy Association.

The club has invited former team mates of Mitchell from all his clubs to attend whilst a number of Premier League players are also being asked to make a guest appearance. Names of players involved in the game will be released over the coming weeks.

Current Stevenage manager Graham Westley and former Boro boss Mark Stimson have agreed to manage the two teams on the night.

The club is thankful for all the offers of help and encouragement it has received from around the footballing world and hopes that this game will provide a fitting tribute to Mitchell.

Tickets can be bought from the Stevenage FC shop or online at www.borotickets.co.uk.
