Mooney and Cox?

Phil Brown is trying to make that happen. He knows that Mooney is not the way to go.

Have to agree... A couple of balls Cox dragged back across the box would've been stuck away with another strike partner. Hopefully Ranger can get fit and Simpson might sign. Either way Cox is intelligent enough to open the defence up just need someone alongside him to put it in the net.

To be honest we have two weak strikers in Mooney and Williams .Mooney strays off side far to often and Willams is not a league one striker .Lets hope cox forms a partnership with either Ranger when fit Or the new striker if signed .

Cox, Simpson, Ranger and Mooney will give us plenty of options up front, our problem is giving them the service they require. We desperately miss Wordsworth & Timlin, our midfield is totally devoid of creativity without them. Atkinson and Leonard should never be played together in the middle, together they offer almost nothing going forward and it renders our strikers completely useless.

We need to sign another attacking minded midfielder ASAP, otherwise it's going to be a very painful start to the season. It will likely be a couple of months before Wordsworth & Timlin are both recovered from their injuries and actually fit enough to play 90 minutes. King is a good squad player but he shouldn't be starting every game, likewise Atkinson shouldn't be starting at all.

Not sure if you were at the game yesterday, and of course everyone has their opinion...but he was a country mile better than the rest of the team

Really disappointed with Cox's work rate yesterday. The effort level just was unacceptable!

I thought Atkinson was out of his depth when their first goal went in. I would never accuse the guy of not working hard and putting a few challenges in but when your playing two midfielders you need more. He is a very good league two player, hence Bradford off loading him when they got promoted. A casing point was in the first half, he done really well to win the ball, gets into the box and instead of crossing it first time, goes back on himself and passes the buck. It's a common occurrence with him just hasn't got anything to offer in the final third, baring in mind he is supposed to be a 'winger'. I reiterate, he works tirelessly and gives 100% but that's no justification to play if your not good enough. I stated on the striker thread last week that it was irrelevant who we sign up front if we have Atkinson in midfield, there just isn't enough creativity.

Agree with danburyshrimper on the partnership bit. I've got a feeling these 2 could be a nightmare for defenders if we play the right way and not long ball.
