Afternoon all!

Just wondering if anyone here has any recommendations for Mortgage Brokers (I'm in Rayleigh) - ideally specialising in people who are Company Directors / self employed.

Thirded. Got Dave to sort out some bits and bobs for me last year and it has been a first class service.

Hi Andy,

Yes indeed I am a full on IFA not just a mortgage broker. Feel free to drop me a line. A few SZ lives are covered by me if you need a recommendation.

DTS , don't forget the commission for the Zone for all the leads you have had for nothing.

DTS sorry I never knew ! It took me 3 months to get a bloody mortgage only finalised last week. It is not easy as an expat any more even with sub 40% LTV. there were other factors eg a tenant in a 1 bed annexe but 3 months ???? I will say my own broker was a star and the height of patience for £299 fee and i think something like £750 from the Bank 15 year mortgage 5 fixed at 2.49% 10% no penalty overpayments.

Not that I'm leaving HK any time soon but the family is moving from Southend after 18 years to the countryside not far from Braintree/Thaxted

Out of interest as a company director/contractor is it hard to get a mortgage?

No. Although certain mortgage companies won't take you. It doesn't make it difficult though. Moreover, when I went contracting the mortgage company I was with were perfectly happy to keep me on, and after doing some sniffing around it turned out they were the best option anyway!
