Simple, is it dreadful stuff from the bad old days of the 1970's or a comedic gem from the heart of a comedy star.

Thoughts?

Personally I am bemused about all the plaudits it's getting - Irish bloke it drag who swears a lot. The peerless Father Ted it ain't.

Total dog****. A sitcom for *****, created by a talentless ****.

Haha! I quite like it therefore I could quite easily have predicted that the rest of you wouldn't! Not sure I'd go as far as "comedy gold", but it's definitely tickled my funny bone

A nice idea to have a comedy that breaks the fourth wall on many occasions, but apart from that I find the characters very over the top and doesn't quite seem to work on television. Think this would could possibly work better as a stage show which involves the audience more.

Has this turned into a grumpy man's pub. First the comedy thread and now this. I think some people need to lighten up and see a fun side to life. Your all beginning to sound like the East Stand on a good day :stunned:

Comedy Gold big time. Always makes me laugh. Some old style jokes but well written. Love the interaction with the guys playing the music and the fact that Mrs. Brown goes off the script and seems to make the other characters laugh when they shouldn't.

Has its moments. But mostly find it very contrived and not that funny. How it can be likened to Father Ted I do not know. Father Ted IS comedy gold. MBB can't hold a candle to it, not in a million years

My bad in lazy similarities as they both contain Irish types.

The apparent popularity of this, and Miranda for that matter, indicate to me at least that as a species, we're ****ed.

Miranda I have never really got - it's funny in parts.
Mrs Brown Boys - funny in parts.

Comedy is generally pony though.

Mrs Drastic really likes Mrs Browns' Boys, I'm not so keen but it has it moments.

Watched the entire first series as it was on in my house, still think it work would better as a live stage show than it does on TV. I think there is actually a tour that does quite well.
