It is not just at SUFC where you will not be able to buy chips soon...

The new E.C Directive (Balanced Nutritional Act January 2010) Applicable to Outside Catering - the purpose being to ensure Customers have a more balanced diet - and not just chips alone when attending events such as these.

Only applies to Mobile Caterers - so doesn't apply to your Local Fish and Chip shop or Mc Donald's etc.

£1000 minimum fine for Non Compliant Sellers and Buyers! - so watch over your shoulder if you try to buy Chips alone.

There is the likelihood this will drive the chips business "underground" and onto the black market.

Thes are sad days for chip lovers

Another example of the E.C. interfering in our everday lives.

Basically you can no longer buy chips on their own from mobile caterers without breaking this law, no mention on onions....yet !!

What a load of Bollocks...I am fed up with being told what I can and can't do by some divvy in the EU.

:thump:

Can't find anything about this on the Net - do you have a link?

Funnily enough, cant even find reference to the act in google.

Does it even exist !?

There is a 2006 act of that name, but all it talks about is exagerated nutritional claims on packaging.

Daily Mail/Daily Express ******** again IMHO.

Better be a wind up, if I want to eat just chips I'll eat just chips and no **** will tell me otherwise.

So annoyed at these 'Do good directives'.
