It is done using the King of the Ring method.

Last man in the ring is the daddy.

Go in peace my children.

Quote[/b] (Wessex Blue @ April 21 2005,11:31)]Re Papal infallibillity - What happened when the Papacy was split between Rome and Avignon, there were two Popes, which one was infallible?

Wasn't a horse elected as Pope at some point?

I've been reading as well that Ratzinger wasn't actually elected by the Cardinals, it was apparently the holy spirit that chose him. I'm confused by that, why do they go through the sham of an election if that's the case?
1. Neither!

2. I think you might be thinking of a dark horse (either that or Roman history - Caligula made his horse a senator)

3. I think the technical answer is that the Cardinals were guided by the holy spirit.

A interesting parrallel with my own life. I'm guided by the radiator, it talks to me and offers advice, however I ignore it when it tells me to go out and kill prostitutes....!

Its not so bad if you are guided by the radiator, its when you start following the toaster's suggestions that you'll find yourself in trouble.
