After reading the descussion on the New Stadium Picture thread i started thinking about the new stadiums Name and IMHO think the naming will be sold off to the company with the biggest wallet.

So my question is who would you like to buy the name and what should the stadium be called.

For Example
Company - Royal Bank of Scotland
Stadium Name - Cheque Book Arena

It's got to be Martin Dawn Plc and named the Ron Martin Memorial Stadium (after our Saviour!!)

I am very pragmatic about this - I want to see the largest possible income stream for the Blues, and therefore I don't care what the stadium is called* if it brings a reasonable bundle of readies into the club.

*Within reason, of course. "The Reserve Upton Park", or "Vasectomy Vale" might be a step too far.

Trev: Don't you just love Southend Harry.

Harry: Quite frankly I find the whole experience about as lovable as walking down a dark alley with my pubes stuck in my zip!

I hope you're not referring to Roots Hall with that comment. The effort that went into building the mecca we currently have was unbelievable. Also if the nearest new road into the ground was called Nelson Mandela Way it could be a problem.

Perhaps the Hi-Tec Fossetts Stadium Frank ?

I admit it I was in a flippant mood, by any chance did you have a flag flying and some sort of song playing with your chest filled full as you read those words in your head?

What I was trying to say is that unofficially we should keep it as a good informal name. Officially of course I have no problem with us selling up for alot of money. Lotsa money!

I like Mike's idea about naming the stadium after Sid... but I doubt that'll happen. If not, the main stand should be given his name.

I heard from A Reliable Source ™ that the new ground will be called:

The Viagra Stadium

The company will buy the ground name and apply the slogan:

"Every season, we stay up"

I was thinking that a new name should follow the naming conventions used along the sea front or something related to southend. I think we could consider:

Mr B's Stadium
or
The Clap Trap (thanks to some of our friendly slags)
or
The Hot Dog arena (This would guarantee Stan the man's attendance every home match!)

Yeah he should get a stand named after him. 'Sid South Stand'

If Dudfield is still with us, we better keep him away from the local livestock.

Could call it Falmer and apply the slogan "it's just a running track"
