Notts County administrator Paul Finnity will be reminded the Football League's patience is rapidly coming to an end when he delivers a progress report on the club's financial position this week.
Finnity, overseeing the Blenheim consortium's £3million buy-out of the Second Division club which has been in administration for a record 17 months, is scheduled to meet League officials in London on Wednesday.
The buy-out was expected to have been completed by the end of October, with County having been given until Tuesday, December 9, to emerge from administration or face expulsion from the League.
But the deal has not yet been finalised and a League spokesman said: "In a very short time we will be approaching the absolute final deadline and Notts County, the oldest professional club in the world, could be taking its last breath if they do not come out of administration.
"There have been numerous deadlines which have come and gone but this is the final deadline and time is marching on.
"If they do not come out of administration by December 9, they will be out of the League."
