If you receive a company pension, I know it's income-tax liable but does a pensioner pay NI contributions, especially if retirement is taken early?

I think you'll find it depends on how long you have paid NI for. As i understand it if you have paid your NI stamp for 39 years then it is regarded that you are entitled to a full pension, any less and then the state pension is reduced accordingly. If you have not done the 39 years you can either pay a lump sum to catch up or continue paying the NI stamp each month until you have reached the magic 39.
